Clear Creek Bayou Overview

Clear Creek starts in southern Harris County just east of Missouri City and runs eastward until it meets Clear Lake. Parks along the way include Almeda Park, Tom Bass Regional ParkEl Franco Lee Park and Challenger 7 Memorial Park.

Clear Creek is one of the most beautiful wild streams in the Houston area and one of the last untouched, pristine bayous in Harris County.  See Texas Parks & Wildlife You Tube video on Clear Creek. Most of the mid-section of the creek is great for canoeing. There are three mapped sections of paddle trails available on Bayou Preservation Association website, see Clear Creek Paddle Trails. At its southeastern terminus, Clear Creek flows through Clear Lake and into Galveston Bay. Most of the mid-section of the creek has large pines and hardwoods along the banks and an abundance of wildlife.
Clear Creek Environmental Foundation is dedicated to the beautification of Clear Creek and organizes a major trash clean-up day each year.
